BSNL Broadband is an Internet access service from state owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) available in India. Before it was known as Data One. BSNL Broadband services are accessible on DSL technology on a national basis covering 198 cities.
BSNL subscribers can access Video multicasting, Audio and Video conferencing, Distance learning, texting, etc through its Subscriber Service Selection System (SSSS) portal.
In terms of Infrastructure for Broadband services NIB has put India at par with most advanced nations. The services that are supported includes:

BSNL Service provider offers High speed Internet connectivity, Virtual Private Network (VPN) service, dial VPN service, Broadband Remote Access Server (BRAS) and both postpaid and prepaid Internet facilities to its customers. The available products are Landline Broadband, Fiber Broadband, Dial up Internet, Wi-Max Broadband, Mobile Broadband 3G and CDMA Broadband. BSNL provides tariff plans for both postpaid and prepaid braodband services.
Fibre to the Home (FTTH) is a unique technology being deployed by BSNL for the first time in India. The fibre connectivity having unlimited bandwidth and used to deliver high speed connectivity. Basic internet Access Service controlled and uncontrolled from 256 Kbps to 1000 Mbps.

BSNL Introduced Limited and Unlimited Postpaid Plans for Home Users in Wireless Broadband(WiMAX) Services. These plans are having a download speed of minimum 512 Kbps and maximum upto 2 Mbps. BSNL offers three types of Limited usage Wireless Broadband (WiMAX) plans WI-220, WI-350, WI-750 which are applicable for all Home and Business users by allowing a bandwidth of 512 Kbps to 2Mbps.
BSNL WiMAX provides some advantages like No cable needed, Almost no downtime, reduce initial cost so no DSL modem needed, Refundable setup cost and it is more reliable and portable too.
