Tata Teleservices operates under five different brands – Tata Indicom (CDMA services), Tata DOCOMO (GSM services), Virgin Mobile, Tata Walky (it is the brand for fixed wireless phones), Tata Photon (the company’s brand that provides a variety of options for wireless mobile broadband access) and T24.

Tata DOCOMO is an Indian cellular service provider on the GSM, CDMA and this is the Joint venture telecommunication service founded in November 2008, Head quartered in New Delhi, India. It is the  sixth largest operator in the country .

Tata DOCOMO is one of the fast growing network.On 2015 spectrum auction Tata DOCOMO won 10 mhz frequency bandwidth in TamilNadu circle. Tata DOCOMO operates in 19 telecom circles and offers services on GSM and CDMA platforms.

DOCOMO provides services throughout India and also it offers both prepaid and postpaid cellular phone  services. It has became more popular in semi-urban and rural areas. Tata DOCOMO holds 26.5% in Tata Teleservices.  Tata DOCOMO had about 42.34 million users as of December 2010. As soon, it increases the subscriber base upto 90.09 million. 

It has became the first private sector telecom company to launch 3G services in India. For 3G mobile service, DOCOMO paid 6964.29 crores for spectrum and obtained licences in 9 circles including Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra & Goa, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh (West).

Both DOCOMO and Aircel entered into a roaming agreement for 3G services to jointly roll out 3G networks in the three circles where they both have coverage (Karnataka, Kerala, and Punjab).  After that, the Department of Telecom said that such 3G arrangements were illegal, So that DOCOMO ended its agreement with Aircel as of December 14, 2011. Tata DOCOMO customers use Reliance GSM’s 3G network when they are on roaming in Delhi.

DOCOMO had about 1.5 million 3G subscribers as of May 2011. DOCOMO plans to shut down the postpaid services in three circles including, Rajasthan, Bihar and Rest of Best Bengal (except Kolkata).

Tata DOCOMO has announced the launch of a new low priced plan of Rs.201 which will allow customers to design a unique plan best suited for their needs. It allows customers to build their own plan based on their usage pattern.

  1. I buy a phone from philliphines 0+ 8.96z it has HSPA 850MHZ AND 2100MHZ FREQUENCY WHEN I SELECT 3G FROM SETTINGS MY TATA DOCOMO DIDNT RECIVE ANY SIGNAL PHONE SHOW SERVICE BUT ON OTHER PHONE 3G WORK PERFECTLY PLZ HELP!!!!
