WhatsApp is a cross platform mobile messaging app which allows you to exchange messages without having to pay for SMS. WhatsApp Messenger is available for iPhone, BlackBerry, Android, Windows Phone and Nokia.

WhatsApp users can create groups, send each other unlimited images, video and audio media messages. Using this App, one can share their contacts and location where they are with others.  To do all these, just you need an internet.

WhatsApp users grown upto 900 million and pople love to use WhatsApp because it contains as many features like,

Mark as unread –  In Android, it is possible to mark a read message as ‘unread’. But this feature will not make it seem as if you have not read the message yet, instead it will only help you highlight important messages.So you can get back to them later.

Hide Last Seen Timestamp – In WhatsApp, it shows the last seen timestamp, telling other users the last time you were on WhatsApp. For privacy reason, some of you can like to disable the last seen timestamp. Go to settings -> privacy  and in Last Seen , select Nobody. So that no one can see your last seen status.

Custom Notification – Using this, you can set a custom option for individual contacts, which are currently in use everyone in your contact list. An individual ringtone can be assigned to each contact. Also the new update allows users to set notification light colours, as well as enable or disable pop-up notifications for each contact.

Backup and Restore WhatsApp chats – WhatsApp makes automatic backup for your chats, even you can also make a manual backup. To make a manual backup, go to settings-> chat setting and tab backup conversation to create a backup manually.

Mute individual contact –  If you don’t like to reply them, but can’t block them means, just check the mute bar in ‘About menu’, then slide it to the right and receive no notifications for either 8 hours, a week, or a year.

Change your WhatsApp Number – If you have changed the phone number, but kept the same phone means, you need not to uninstall or reinstall the WhatsApp app. Just change the phone number in WhatsApp through the settings. Go to settings -> Accounts -> Change Number. Enter your old phone number in the first field and then your new phone number in the second field. Then press ‘Done‘ button. Verify your new phone number, and all your chat history, groups and so on will be migrated to the new number.

Lower data consumption in WhatsApp call – If you love to make a WhatsApp call quite often and wish to reduce the data consumption. Just go to Settings -> Chats and Calls -> Low Data Usage (click the box to save some data while making WhatsApp calls). so that it might take lower data consumption.
